There are definitely signals that he (Giuliani) wants to. He has been doing the rounds (Iowa, etc) and pressing the flesh (buddying up with the folks you need to, in order to get the nomination, such as Ralph Reed and other religious "leaders"). It is a bit doubtful that he will win, given his history of being pro-choice, pro-gay, not to forget appering in drag on Saturday Night Live ;-).

McCain who has already been down this road has a better chance, but I think these things are decided elsewhere by the sponsors of the party. I wouldn't be surprised to see either Chuck Hagel or someone else get the final nod.

Ok, just started wondering about that. Giuliani is planning to run as a Republican presidential candidate?

I do not know but I guess there would have been no relationship, considering Bush (Jr) spent the first 40 odd years of his life partying and running companies into the ground, after which he relaxed as governor of Texas. Not sure he involved himself beyond the trivial in larger politics, before Texas.

Powell is definitely not a Bush crony. What was his relation to Bush before becoming Secretary of State?
