BBC | Guantanamo guard reunited with ex-inmates
Is it not possible that my activity as an objective observer of nature will weaken my strength as a human being?
Below is a video of a policeman dying on the road (in Tamil Nadu in India) after having his legs hacked off by thugs. The crowd surrounding him includes various state government officials and inside the cars are a couple of ministers to boot. There are many horrifying aspects to this news and video, beginning with the strange apathy (worse, lack of humanity) of the crowd, in particular the officials, who could have done so much to help the man (such as staunching the bleeding which eventually led to his death), transported him in one of the cars, or at least comforted him (rather than avoid him as if he had the plague), and ending with the loathsome bureaucratic toad who opines towards the end that all was being done with “the body” (referring to the still alive policeman).
