The other day while driving home I was amused to hear the Gotan Project on NPRs slick economics and capitalism news program “Marketplace”. I have been listening to Gotan Project for a few months and found the music very interesting, at least to write code to, but what amused me in this instance was that the song they were playing (just a short bit of) is titled El Capitalismo Foraneo.
Check out the album. Its worth a listen.

It’s not only nice to listen to; it’s great to dance to.
At least, it has been a hot item in Tango circles
for the last few years. The texture is not as complex
as one finds in the classic Argentine tangos, but it
makes for very dramatic dancing if you’re up to it.
Of course, the French have always been kind to Tango.
They were the first to make it respectable in the twenties,
and I see they’re still paying their dues.
I just bought this CD on my way home from Argentina. $9 in the Duty Free Shop. (Expensive by Argentinian standards. :-) Excellent!

So the two people I thought would be interested in the CD (well perhaps also Bernhard and Juan) already know of it! Good, I don’t have to buy it for you then ;-).
